Craig DeClerck was born and raised in Lake Orion, Michigan. He is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University. Craig is a member of Michigan State’s Honors College and currently holds a 3.9 GPA. Along with his academic work Craig teaches Chemistry through Michigan State’s residential college of natural science, Lyman Briggs. Craig is also a resident assistant in Holmes Hall. Craig joined Lik Chuan Lee’s computational biomechanics lab in summer 2017 through Michigan State’s EnSURE program (Engineering Summer Undergraduate Research Experience). He has been working along side PhD student Ce Xi to computationally model Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension using hyper-elastic warping. As a full time member of the lab Craig hopes to help publish papers about his research on Idiopathic Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension. After his undergraduate degree Craig plans on pursuing his doctoral degree in engineering.
